o accessibility and parking issue, our Muddy Boots hike for June 14 has bee
n changed from Turtletown hike to Benton Falls hike.
We will still meet at Chota at 7:45 and leave at 8:00.
Muddy Boots Hike – Benton Falls Trail<
/strong>
Hike Description: This is an enjoyable 4.5 mile loop hike in the Cherokee National Fore st. You will experience a beautiful and unique 65 foot waterfall over an in teresting tier of rocks. The hike is mostly flat except for the descent to the falls.

Directions: Go south on 444/Telli
co Pkwy to TN-72. Turn LEFT at TN-72. Turn RIGHT onto US-411. Go approx. 37
miles on US-411. You will pass a gun store on your right side with a large
Beretta gun sign on the building aprox. one half mile before reaching TN R
t. 314.At TN-314 turn LEFT. (TN-314 is located within the town limits of Be
nton, if you reached the Sonic in Benton, you passed it up). TN-314 ends at
US-64. Turn LEFT onto US-64. Drive a little less than 3 miles on US-64, wa
tch for small brown sign for Chilhowee Recreation Area. At the sign turn LE
FT onto Forest Service Rd 77. Take FS-77 for seven miles. Just before the p
avement becomes gravel, turn RIGHT onto FS-77B. Follow FS-77B for 4/10 of a
mile. Turn LEFT into the day use parking area. Park in the upper lot near
the pavilion. Pay $3 fee.
Hiking poles and hiking boots are recommended.
