Ever wond er where the water in Tellico Lake comes from? Let’s go find out!!
Th is flotilla will take you upstream (basically southeast) to the headwaters of Tellico Lake which is the outlet of Chilhowee Lake. The trip will take a bout 1 ½ hours each way through some of the most striking scenery on the la ke. Once we are beyond Fort Loudon State Park, there’s nary a house to be s een.
We will meet at the Yacht Club to board the waiting boats (docks directly behind the Yacht Club closest to the center of the lake). Once we ’ve all boarded, we will take off for Chilhowee Dam which is approximately 24 miles from the Yacht Club.
You will need to bring your own food an d drinks and enjoy lunch along the way. We really won’t be spending much ti me at the dam, but some might want to test the 65 degree water. On the way back to the Yacht Club, we will stop for raft-off at one of the coves. So, bring you swimsuits, towels, tubes or rafts. Register online at tellicolife .org.
Cost: $15.00
