Hike Description:  This close-to-home hike is the perfect introduction to the East Lakeshore Trails across the lake from Tellico Village and showcases a variety of landscapes and scenic views. Our hike will cover a portion of the Jackson Bend Branch. Starting from the parking lot and trailhead at Peterson Road and the East Tellico Parkway, we will hike north parallel to the parkway, before crossing it and following the eastern shore of Lake Tellico. We’ll proceed about 2-1/2 miles, to a point across the lake from Rarity Bay. Here we will take a brief break at a bench/overlook and then we’ll re-trace our steps back to the trailhead for a total of about 4.5 miles.
