POWER OF ATTORNEY ISSUES
March 22nd, 2021 4:00 PM
Via Zoom

Please join us on March 22nd at 4PM for an interesting Zoom meeting presented by Kelly G. Frere, Certified Elder Law Attorney, CAP with Guyton & Frere Elder Law Attorneys located in Lenoir City. This event is being co-sponsored by the HOA and the TV Public Library.

Fortunately, many people are now familiar with legal documents known as advance directives called Powers of Attorney, the Tennessee Advance Care Plan, Living Wills, and similar planning tools. Unfortunately, many people do not fully understand how these documents work, how documents for seniors should be written with provisions specific to the senior population, how Tennessee laws address the creation and use of these documents, and, most importantly, the alternatives available to your family and our Court systems under our state laws if you do not have valid, appropriate documents. Did you know that Tennessee has a Mental Health Power of Attorney? We will discuss these issues, and attendees will be provided with actual language for provisions that should be in both your financial and health care Powers of Attorney. We will also discuss the use of Living Wills, and the great failure of the Advance Care Plan.

Cost: FREE to HOA members
Maximum: 20 households (We are expecting couples will use a single Zoom invitation to attend)
No online sign ups after March 18, 2021

Sorry, this event is Closed
